Collection of provincial Party chief

Su Rong was elected secretary of East China's Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Oct 30, 2011.

Su was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee held in Nanchang. In November 2007, the CPC Central Committee appointed Su to the position.

Su Rong, was born in October 1948. A native of Taonan, Jilin province with a Master's degree in economics, Su Rong joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1970.

He began his career in January 1974 as the vice secretary and secretary of the CPC Najin Commune Committee in Tao'an county, Jilin province.

In March 1983, he served as the Secretary of the CPC Fuyu County Committee; Member of the CPC Baicheng Prefectural Committee, Jilin province.

In May 1985 Su was appointed Vice Secretary of the CPC Committee; Commissioner of Baicheng prefecture, Jilin province.

He used to be a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee.

From 1996 to 2001, Su was the Vice Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee. After that Su was appointed by the CPC Central Committee as Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee.

He was then elected as the Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee in May 2002.

In August 2003, Su was appointed by the CPC Central Committee as Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee. Then he was elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress in January 2004.

Sun also served as the Managing Vice-President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee from 2006 to 2007

Su has served as the Secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee since 2007.

Su Rong was a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee. He is now a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
