NANCHANG - Lu Xinshe was elected governor of East China's Jiangxi province at the local parliamentary session on Sunday.
The decision was made at the fifth session of the 11th Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, the local legislative body.
Lu, replacing Wu Xinxiong, had occupied the role of acting governor of Jiangxi since June 2011, before which he was Jiangxi's vice governor.
Lu, born in November 1956, had been vice minister of Land and Resources since 1999. On August 2010 he was appointed deputy secretary of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in northwestern Gansu province.
He had also acted as director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping between 2005 and 2008.
Lu is an alternate member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
Hu Youtao was elected to be vice governor of Jiangxi on Sunday.
