9. Beijing will improve its elderly care services
The 13th Five-Year Plan is an important period for the city to deal with population aging. Beijing needs to establish an elderly care service system including home-based care for the aged, community interactions, elderly care institutions, and social organizations. The city will increase care for the aged, strengthen efforts in government purchase and support, encourage non-profit organizations, enterprises, and private business to be involved in the sector, facilitate the combination of health care and elderly care service, and explore a new model of social provision for the aged with professional involvement.
