MANILA - Police on Friday seized an estimated 200 kilograms of illegal drugs worth millions of pesos in Paranaque City in the Philippines' capital region of Metro Manila.
Local radio station DZMM reported that police apprehended a sports utility vehicle after they received a tip that it contains the illegal drugs, known as methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
Roque Merdeguia, spokesman of the Philippine National Police's Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, said the illegal drugs were packed in several wooden boxes.
Merdeguia said four suspects who were aboard the vehicle were arrested.
Police said the suspects denied any knowledge about the shipment and maintained that they were merely asked to deliver the boxes to Cavite province.
