The Ninth China Hangzhou West Lake Expo will be held from October 27 to November 10 in Hangzhou, said the organizer on Friday at a news conference.

The event is organized by Hangzhou Municipal Government, and sponsored by China National Tourism Administration, China National General Administration of Sport, Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

With the theme "Harmonious West Lake, Charming Hangzhou", this exposition focuses on Hangzhou's efforts to construct "a city of quality life", and wants to develop itself as a leader in the exhibition industry.

The West Lake Expo includes 20 exhibitions, 20 conventions and 32 festival activities, which are classified into seven categories. They include healthy life, leisure life, entrepreneurship life, digital life and artistic life.

Hangzhou held its first expo - West Lake Expo - in 1929. It is not until 71 years later that the Hangzhou Municipal Government decided to revive the expo in 2000.
