Bio Sketch
Yang Yan is a member of the China Artists Association and a deputy president of the Chinese National Fine Arts Institution. He also serves as a researcher at Nanjing Muesum.
Born in 1958 in Xining, Qinghai province, he started to paint in 1964 and became a disciple of traditional Chinese painting master Li Keran in 1988.
He was invited to lecture in Japan in 1993 and his work The Rhythm of Life was displayed at Paris in 1996.
Yang held a tour exhibition of his works in the US in 2000. He was invited to display his works at the 3rd Exhibition of the World in the Eyes of Chinese Painters in 2008.
