From the very beginning, China Daily has set its sights on the overseas market and has established printing stations in Hong Kong, America, Europe and other Asian countries.
China Daily has always viewed talent as its key resource in building a top international communications group. Ever since it was founded, we have drawn on high-level English-teaching, English-translating and English-reporting talent, building up a team of more than 100 people. Over the past 30 years, the newspaper’s talent pool has expanded. In addition to training, performance assessment, payment and welfare systems have also improved. The result is the largest and the most professional team involved in English reporting and editing in the country. It comprises a “special team” of more than 70 high-level foreign editors and journalists.
In 1993, China Daily launched the 21st Century English newspaper to meet the demand of people studying English, following up with school editions and teacher editions, and thereby forming the 21st Century newspaper group.
