Monkeys at one of the China's top scenic spots have been put on contraceptives to curtail their breeding.
Staff members at Lushan Mountain park, in Jiangxi province, are feeding contraceptive pills to the primates, Chinanews.com reported on Aug 17.
According to a park official, 50 monkeys were introduced into the scenic spot at the end of 2005.
The number has more than doubled.
Monkeys are a major tourist attraction but are also a major nuisance and can attack visitors.
