The cargo capacity at Liaoning province's ports reached 500 million metric tons in June, a year-on-year increase of 14.1 percent and 4.2 percentage points higher than the national level, according to Liaoning's transport department.
Foreign trade output reached 98.74 million metric tons, an increase of 12.4 percent year-on-year. The province's growth in port cargo capacity ranks first among coastal cities in China.
Ports in Liaoning province, including Dalian port and Yingkou port, are the main outlets for Northeast China and the eastern parts of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. More than 85 percent of seaborne cargo and 90 percent of foreign goods headed to Northeast China pass through ports in Liaoning province.
