Feature: 2013 Chengdu Motor Show
The 2013 Chengdu Motor Show opened at the Century City International Convention & Exhibition Center beginning August 30 and run through September 8.
The auto show's official website said exhibitors made more investments this year compared to last year's event.
This year the auto show's theme is "Colorful auto show, splendid Chengdu." With an expansion in scale, the auto show will occupy all nine halls at the Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center for passenger vehicles for the first time. The 140,000 square-meter exhibition space also has an open-air display area for high-end pre-owned cars and its road show.
Ten carmakers and brands will have an exhibition area larger than 1,500 square meters including Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Dongfeng Yueda KIA, Beijing Hyundai and SAIC Motor.
Shanghai Volkswagen, Beijing Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo will come with their latest cars during the show. SVW will debut its new locally developed Cross Lavida. Volvo will announce its new S80L to be manufactured in its just approved Chengdu plant. BMW Brilliance is set to launch the 316i in the Chinese market, and Mercedes brings its locally manufactured new E class. Beijing Hyundai will display its mass produced Mistra after debut at the Shanghai auto show.
During the 10-day exhibition, the show is expected to draw more than 650,000 visitors.
