Woman climbs five-story building with bare hands to save toddler
Scenes of heroes flying over the eaves and running on the walls of a building are a regular feature in Chinese kung fu films. But the actions of a woman in South China's Guangdong province rendered fantasy into heroic reality.
Chen Xiaoli, 28, climbed a residential building with her bare hands and feet and no safety gear to save a three-year-old neighbor trapped outside on the fifth floor of a building in Huizhou, Guangdong province, at 9 pm Saturday, People's Daily reported.
Chen held the girl for an hour beside the window rails until firefighters came to the rescue.
