China and Russia news agencies hold joint photo exhibition
( chinadaily.com.cn ) Updated: 2016-12-21 21:21:20Photographs by reporters from Xinhua and TASS,the national agencies of China and Russia, are on display at a joint photographic exhibition to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their cooperation.
Some 70 photos are included in the exhibition that opened on Wednesday in Beijing.
"These photos record crucial moments of the development of the Sino-Russian friendship," Xinhua president Cai Mingzhao said. "The friendship between Xinhua and TASS also has a long history dating back to 1950."
"Correspondent Post in Moscow, founded in 1950, was one of Xinhua's first branches overseas. And the visit to TASS in 1952 marks the first official overseas trip by then Xinhua's head Wu Lengxi," Cai added.
Mikhail Guzman, first deputy director-general of TASS, agreed the best photographers of the two agencies recorded the key moments of the Sino-Russia relationship development.
"I believe it is the first 60 years' of cooperation. We will have more in the future," he said.
