KIEV - Ukraine said Tuesday the country and Russia have agreed on gas prices following talks between senior officials from both countries.
"The prime minister told me that in general the two sides agreed on the price and they have to deal with some technical issues," Vitaly Lukianenko, spokesman for Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, told reporters.
He did not reveal the revised gas price but it is widely believed that it should be slightly above $200 per 1,000 cubic meters
In April 2010, Kiev and Moscow signed a contract that granted Ukraine a 100-dollar discount for every 1,000 cubic meters of gas purchased from Russia.
