"There is this guy who watches every show of mine," she says. "He says he'd pay 1,000 yuan ($150) to buy any painting I do, and he has not asked me for anything weird. Anyway, I said thank you but turned down the offer. I'm not doing this for money."

Wang says her parents and her boyfriend are happy to support her in what she is doing.

"They just want to see me communicate with people and be happy."

Her boyfriend watches her broadcasts from outside her room and sends her virtual gifts online as a viewer, she says.

Wang says she has bipolar disorder and cannot handle the stress of talking and dealing with too many people or doing a regular 9-to-5 job. Because of her condition she took a gap year when she was in college and did not want an office job after she graduated. She is still waiting for her diploma, she says, because she missed some core classes during her absence.
