The Avatar effect

Ah, you can't beat a 3D battle. That's the verdict of millions of Avatar fans.

Just when one incredible animated battle is over… another one comes along. This is a film by Chinese company, Alpha Animation… it's an adaptation of a cartoon – blending 3D with real actors.

For such companies, Avatar has created a special 'financial' effect – Alpha's stock has surged as investors see great potential in animated movies.

And the Avatar effect is yet wider. The number of IMAX 3D screens is predicted to quadruple in China.

So what else might Avatar effect? For fashion's sake, let's hope it doesn't spark a trend for 3D-style sunglasses…they'd be so much bigger than those.
