Building world-class universities in China

Editor's note: China aims to establish a group of world-class universities and disciplines by 2020, according to a document released by the State Council, China's cabinet on Nov 5. I think there is no doubt that China should establish world-class universities. Firstly, viewed from the developing strategy, as the biggest developing country in the world, which plays a significant role globally, China has become more and more appealing to the younger generation from all around the world. China needs more competent people to develop so universities, one of the most indispensable parts in developing a nation, cannot be ignored. Secondly, judging from the trend in the world, education reform has been put in a high place, we should keep pace with the time. Only by establishing world-class universities can we create more favorable factors for future development. Not only can we provide more high-standard educational opportunities for our students, but we can create a higher platform in the world competition. At the present, the first obstacle in the way is that we lack educational resources, and we don't have an advanced enough education system. So the reforms should be promoted as soon as possible. All walks of life should found a strong union to decrease the resistance force.
