Personal resume:
Born: October 1955, Wuji county, Hebei province.
Zhang finished her postgraduate study while working; she has a master’s degree in economics and is a senior economist; she joined the CPC in June 1975 and began work in October 1973.
She worked previously in the Xiaodian Commune, in the Nanjiao district of Taiyuan, then became Youth League secretary for the Haozhuang Commune, in Taiyuan.
In 1978, she studied applied mechanics at the Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Institute.
After 1982, she was chief of the standards section of Taiyuan’s surveying bureau, deputy secretary, secretary, and head of Taiyuan’s Wool Spinning Plant No 1.
In 1994, she became vice-chairman and a member of the Party leaders group, Shanxi Textile General Association.
In 2000, she became a member of the Standing Committee of the Jincheng municipal CPC, and deputy mayor.
In 2001, she became deputy secretary of Jincheng.
In January 2003, she became deputy secretary of the city of Shuozhou; and in April, deputy secretary and mayor.
In 2006, she became secretary of the city of Xinzhou.
Jan 15, 2009, she was elected vice-governor of Shanxi province at the 2nd session of the 11th People’s Congress of Shanxi.
