Born: Feb 1956, Linyi county, Shanxi province Du is a member of the Shanxi provincial CPC Standing Committee and vice-governor of the province.

March 1975: Joined the CPC, beginning work in June 1976; he did postgraduate studies at the Central Party School, in philosophy.

From June 1976 to March 1978: Worked in the Linyi Finance and Tax Bureau general office as secretary of agriculture and finance.

From Jan1982 to June 1983: Worked as secretary, Shanxi Finance and Trade Commission, finance division.

From June 1983 to March 1985: Secretary, third general office, Shanxi People’s Government.

From March 1985 to April 1987: Vice-general manager, Shanxi Economic Development and Investment Co.
