The D3942 bullet train departed from Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province on July 10, heading on a journey of about 1,500 kilometers to Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, marking the launch of a new high-speed railway route.
The train from Lijiang to Guilin passes through tourist cities such as Dali, Chuxiong, Kunming, Baise, and Nanning. It will create an in-demand tourism route, driving economic development along the line and helping local poverty alleviation efforts.

Lijiang possesses the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Old Town of Lijiang and the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Area, as well as the Ancient Naxi Dongba Literature Manuscripts, a UNESCO Memory of the World document.
In terms of tourism development, Guilin has been a tourist attraction since ancient times. It has achieved many industry-recognized achievements and experiences for Lijiang to learn from.
Both cities are important tourist destinations in China and the world. They are also favored destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

He Likun, a native of Lijiang who runs a tourism company in the Old Town of Lijiang, said that in the future, billboards showing the beauty of Lijiang will appear in Guilin, which will surely attract more Chinese and foreign tourists to Lijiang, while Lijiang will also become a window for Guilin to attract tourists.
