Dongba cultural exhibition attracts tourists

Lijiang Museum held a comprehensive Dongba cultural exhibition of the Naxi ethnic group at Lijiang Sanyi International Airport on June 25, attracting many visitors.

The exhibition was divided into pictograph displays, inscription rubbing experiences, and hand-painted bookmarks. It aimed to promote and spread the culture of Lijiang, as well as contribute to the development of Lijiang's tourism through cultural communication.

Duncan James, assistant professor of the Department of Translation of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, said that since he first came to Lijiang in 2004, he has developed a strong interest in Dongba pictographs. Now he is working hard to study them.

He said he hopes to cooperate with the Lijiang Dongba Character and Painting Experience Museum in the future by shooting a video on Dongba pictographs and compiling English textbooks related to Dongba characters.

In the future, Lijiang Museum will hold similar activities in communities and schools to spread Dongba culture.
