Celebrations kicked off in the Longjing village, Huaping county of Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province on May 13 to welcome the water-sprinkling Festival.
People splashed water on one another to pray for good fortune. Thousands of visitors also attended the festival.
A variety of activities including traditional singing, water dragon dance and fish-catching competition added to the festive atmosphere.
The annual festival also marked the New Year festival of the Dai ethnic group. Other countries, such as Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, also celebrate the festival.
Longjing village, featured with colorful ethnic culture is blessed with advantages in tourist culture industry. The area has made great advancements in promoting spiritual civilization in recent years.
