The Shigu Town of the Yulong Naxi autonomous county in Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province overflowed with cheers and laughter after an art performance by the Jinsha River on Feb 24.
Being the third of its kind, the show was held under the joint efforts of the eight townships in western Yulong county including Shigu, Judian, Shitou, Liming, Jiuhe, Longpan, Tacheng and Ludian, to bring the local residents with an art and cultural feast.

The performance was divided into three segments to celebrate the Spring Festival, extending wishes for a better life and creatively reflecting some historic changes in the direction set by the Party and the country.
Seventen programs were staged to showcase the unique folklore such as Dongba dance, a Sanxian (a three-stringed plucked instrument) play and songs.
The show has vividly showcased the dramatic changes in rural development and will help enliven people's lives, promote cultural development and prosperity in rural areas, according to Li Wenhong, director of the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication of Yulong county.
