Lijiang receives 810,700 visitors during Spring Festival

Lijiang of Yunnan province welcomed 810,700 visitors over the Golden Week of the Chinese New Year, up 37.5 percent from the same period last year, local authorities announced on Feb 22.

The city's tourism sector pocketed 929 million yuan ($146.6 million) during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 43.39 percent. Both the tourist numbers and revenue surged to a record high.

Hot tourist attractions in Lijiang, led by Laojun Mountain scenic spot and Lashi Lake, have reportedly seen huge increase in visitors, mostly individual ones.

The Yulong Snow Mountain scenic spot had its highest number of daily visitors on Feb 19, estimated at 25,248. The number of daily visitors has surpassed 10,000 at the Lugu Lake scenic zone.
