Beauty of Lijiang enchants painters' eyes

Lijiang Culture Museum has launched a painting activity for 16 well-known artists to make s featuring Lijiang's beautiful scenery and unique culture on Oct 15.

Th event will run from Oct 16 to Oct 20. All the artists are members of China Artists Association and Yunnan Artists Association.

The group will visit famous local tourism spots, including Lijiang Old Town, Yulong Snow Mountian, and Tiger Leaping Gorge, on their five-day trip, and create works depicting those scenes.

The artists will put Lijiang's colorful ethnic cultures, grand mountains, and local customs and practices into their works, presenting the new look of Lijang's cultural construction.

Liu Jiachen, deputy secretary of Lijiang Municipal Committee of the CPC, said, "In recent years, Lijiang has constantly reinforced its cultural soft power and cultivated batches of artists. Lijiang has built it into a fertile field for art."

Chen Zhenguo, director of the China Artists Association, said that Lijiang's rich culture and beautiful scenery make it a great place for artists to collect various creative elements and get a feel for the local life.
