Lijiang was licensed as a high-level talent introduction base in Yunnan province on Aug 21, as part of Yunnan's effort to attract high-level talents to work in the city through preferential policies.
Yunnan province issued talent introduction measures in 2016 to carry out ten flexible policies, including services outsourcing, project cooperation and technology investment.
Four academicians and 32 high-level experts in the fields of cultural tourism, plateau-based agriculture, biomedicine and healthcare were invited to visit Lijiang and participate in a series of service activities, such as inspections and consulting services.

Cui Maohu, chief of the Lijiang municipal committee of the CPC, shared the local demand for talents and the concerned policies. He said that Lijiang has paid great attention to talent introduction and its business environment.
"The talent base will act as a platform for the city to perfect its talent policies and create a better entrepreneurial environment," Cui said.

Yu Dapeng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that Lijiang enjoys rich natural resources and has a great need of talent for its development. He urged universities and science research institutes to strengthen cooperation with Lijiang.
At present, Yunnan has established 239 academician and expert work stations and 166 expert R&D stations, with 149 academicians and 249 high-level experts.
