Lijiang is to hold its third Lijiang Chinese International Contemporary Literature Forum from Dec 7 to 10 with leading domestic and overseas writers, critics, journal chief editors and publishers in attendance to ensure a successful literary event.
The theme of the forum is "our literature -- individuality and similarity in a multi-element age". Many sub-forums will be set up including "writing and me", "good books and literature" and "poetry and Lijiang".
The forum is intended to publicize Lijiang's literary culture and Lijiang Old Town by bringing together all aspects of literary production.
A large-scale poetry recitation and folk song evening party is scheduled for Nov 8 in the Suhe old town of Lijiang.
The first literature forum held in Lijiang in December 2014 was China's most influential one that year as a Nobel Prize winner in literature, Jean Marie Gustave Le Clézio, was present.
The second one was equally a success with over 30 million hits on its live webcast of profound and heated discussions among leading foreign and domestic writers.
Taeteawenxueyuan, a co-organizer of the forum, has held a series of literature activities including the Taetea China Writers Yueyang Summit Meeting in Central China's Hunan province and a meet-and-greet between Indian writer Amitav Ghosh and Kunming writers.
