A flower-based banquet theme shapes this year's Yunnan Food Festival at the Minzu Hotelthrough May 20.
A chef from the province will use seasonal ingredients including fresh flowersand plants from Yunnan, such as camellia, jasmine, azalea and bamboo. Yunnan has a longhistory of cooking with flowers, which can be made into desserts and soup, or be pan-fried andmixed with other ingredients.
Classic traditional dishes available at lunch and dinner includesteamed pot chicken, morel with wrinkled pepper, and wild broccoli with garlic.
