Rose Village, a wonderland at Lijiang Ancient Town

Lijiang will open its Rose Village this August, yunnan.cn reported.

Rose Village is designed as a smart tourism scenic spot and the first village themed with rosy love in China.

Rose Village includes a rose spring, and a rose planting garden with an area of 1,000 mu and a zero carbon emission camping center, where you can appreciate flowers and relax under the moonlight.

Located in Lijiang Ancient Town, Rose Village has a total of 442 traditional houses with more than 80,000 square meters, painted in nine colors.

Except for the various 3D pictures on the wall, each of the houses is kept in traditional style. The paintings feature daily life scenarios such as mountains, power station and dams.

A 3D painting 500 meters long will be submitted to be listed as a Guinness World Record. “The village is expected to receive tourists by August,” said Li Bin, a staffer at Lijiang Rose Village Tourism Development Co, Ltd.

Jinlong Village, the initiator of Rose Village, is a village of migrant farmers. The majority of young people work outside, with only seniors and kids left in the village.

“We worry a lot about our life. However, thanks to Rose Village, our life is expected to become better,” said Li Shihui, a villager at Jinlong.

Actually, villagers are considering open fruit vendors, a restaurant or even home-stays to increase income.

“Our village has moved to Rose Village, with the help of good planning of roads, houses, and other facilities, ” said Zhao Guifang, director of the Party’s Jinlong Village committee.

“Income of the people is a priority for us -- we aim to increase people’s income by three times,” said Li, whose company began rose planting last year.

The first phase of the project is expected to offer at least 100 job opportunities for villagers. All the stores, supermarkets, and restaurants will be operated by villagers, who will also benefit from the ticket revenue.

Upon opening, the village will offer WiFi service. Visitors can leave their wallets and bank cards at home, and enjoy themselves with their smart phones.
