Lijiang strives to be an ethnicity tourism destination

Liijang is striving to establish itself as an international ethnicity tourism destination in two years, according to the Lijiang Tourism Development Commission, news.cn reported.

Lijiang has always attached great importance to developing tourism brands. It set the goal of becoming a Cultural Tourism City as early as 2004 and established its development strategy of developing via culture and tourism.

While developing tourism resources, Lijiang emphasized a combination of history with nature. The Lijang culture featuring Naxi ancient music, Dongba culture, Mosuo culture, and the Yi ethnicity culture, has grown more and more popular among tourists.

The old town has established famous cultural brands such as Impression of Lijiang. It has also attracted TV crews: over 50 films and TV dramas have been shot there.

The Old Town of Lijiang will continue to inherit and protect ethnic culture, create unique ethnic brands and promote the development of its cultural tourism industry.

With the support of the government, the old town will strive to come up with high-quality cultural tourism products and establish Liijang as an international cultural and tourism destination within two years.
