Visits to Fangguoyu’s former residence hit record high

Nearly 2,400 people have visited Fangguoyu’s former residence during the summer vacation, a record high.

Delegations from Beijing No 12 Middle School, Lijiang Science and Technology Association and Ancient Town district cultural bureau visited the former residence of Fangguoyu (1903 to 1983), a famous educational expert. He dedicated himself to the study and education of Yunnan regional history and was a pioneer in the study of the province’s ethnic ties.

More schools are organizing visits to the residence during the summer vacation, with CPC founding day and Army day, according to the staff at the residence.

The rising number of visitors is bringing increasing attention to the cultural venue.
