8. Competition Methods
(A) This event will be held in accordance with the latest track and field rules of the Chinese Athletic Association and these marathon race rules.
(B) According to the Chinese Athletics Association "Notice Regarding the Participation in National Marathons and Other Related Activities of Disabled Persons,” which allows players meeting the entry conditions of persons with disabilities to participate in this tournament.
(C) Starting method: Divided start areas. According to the registration athletes in China Marathon information platform released on December 30, 2016, players will enter their designated area. Non-competing wheelchair athletes shall gather behind the mini marathon area. As the track conditions were not met, this event does not have a competing wheelchair category. Wheelchair participants are not allowed to compete in the race.
The organizing committee will set up the race-check carpet in front of each area. The participants must be in strict accordance with the partition areas. At the start, the runners must pass through the check-point for the results to be valid.
(D) Race start: gun start while issuing the order to start
(E) Race timing:
1. This competition for marathon and half-marathon will use a timing chip, which will start when passing through the check-point (net time). The mini-marathon is untimed.
2. At the start point, end point, and at every 5 km point, runners must run through the check-point. Those who finish the race after the closing time will not receive race results.
3. Runners must get their timing chip at the gear pick-up site, along with their race bib and other items. There is no deposit for the one-time use timing chip. There is no deposit, and it will not be collected after the race.
(F) Race close distances and times
To ensure the safety of the runners, the race will use a limited traffic rolling road closure. The check points will stop counting time based on when the road segment re-opens for normal traffic use. After the specified closing time, runners who don't finish will be stopped immediately and asked to exit the track.Runners who wish to quit can exit the race and take public transport to reach the finish point.
