At 0:09am of July 22, the construction of Zhuyong Highway (from Zhuji to Yongjia) was completed. The opening of the highway cuts down the time of travel between Hangzhou and Wenzhou to three hours.
Zhuyong Hignway plays an important role in Zhejiang's highway network, which covers a distance of 225 kilometers, running through the five counties of Zhuji (Shaoxing), Dongyang (Jinhua), Pan’an (Jinhua), Xianju (Taizhou) and Yongjia (Wenzhou). The total investment in the project is nearly 16.4 billion yuan. It has reduced the highway distance from Hangzhou to Wenzhou to 300 kilometers, 27 kilometers shorter than the Shangshan-Yongtaiwen Highway, and 68 kilometers shorter than Hangjinqu-Jinliwen Highway.
Since the highway runs through Kuaiji Mountain, Dapanshan Mountain, and Kuocang Mountain, it covers several dangerous areas. Traffic police remind drivers to drive carefully.
