Qiantang tidal waves
Big tidal waves smash into the bank of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, September 16, 2008. The spectacular tidal waves, which comes around August 18 according to the Chinese lunar calendar, have attracted people from across the country every year since ancient times, and there is an annual Tide-Watching Festival in late summer.[CFP]
