Dozens of local citizens sold a variety of their unused items from the trunks of sedans on Saturday in Hangzhou, the capital of eastern China's Zhejiang Province.

Although such "garage sales" are common occurrences in western countries they are rare in China, so a crowd of curious passers-by were soon busy looking for bargains.

The Qianjiang Evening News reported that the flea market was organized by the residents themselves.
