Vertical Road is a contemplative dance on the journey of human soul from earth to heaven that explores people's earthly nature and behaviors. It is inspired by a poem by Rumi, a famous Persian poet and philosopher in the 13th century.
The production features outstanding dancers from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Innovative stage lighting effects as well as a fresh and brisk soundtrack make the work unique. Adhering to choreographer Akram Khan's constant pursuit of art, the dance strives to explore the interaction between different cultures and dance innovation.
