Large-scale modern drama 'Wetland' staged in Beijing

The modern drama “Wetland” is staged on April 17 in Poly Theater in Beijing.

The drama is mainly concerned with the arguments surrounding poaching and anti-poaching measures, protection and development, exploring civilized people’s attitudes and their introspective consciousness of the earth, ecology, and environment. It aims to arouse people’s respect for the sky and the earth and instill a yearning and compassion for eternity and infinity. “Wetland” not only lets us deeply understand the pain and longing of the earth but also teaches us to appreciate the solemnity and beauty of all creatures.

In this drama, the character Lao Geng was once a keen hunter. Then he changed to become a volunteer protecting wild animals. In order to protect a piece of valuable wetland, Lao Geng conducted a silent battle with local ignorant people. Following Lao Geng and other volunteers’ appeals, the villagers finally participated in protection activities with the volunteers and the local officials started to attach more importance to the protection of the environment and the wetland.
