Shanghai Henrik Ibsen's play

A Chinese stage production of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People will be presented this week. The play will star Wang Xuebing, a Chinese film actor, in the lead role of a medical officer. Directed by Lin Zhaohua, the play premiered in Beijing in October, and more than 100 performances have been scheduled this year.

'Bible of love'

Two performances of Rhino in Love are coming up. The play, written by Liao Yimei and directed by Meng Jinghui, premiered in 1999 and has become one of the most successful shows of the Meng Jinghui Theater Studio. A lyrical story about young love in modern China, the play is widely quoted online, and is sometimes described as the "Bible of love".
