A Chinese calligraphy exhibition themed "Dream of Harmony" opened at the UN headquarters in New York on Thursday, attracting crowds of people to the scene.
The exhibition presents dozens of calligraphy pieces which write popular traditional Chinese concepts such as "Kindheartedness," "Tai chi," "Man is an integral part of nature," delivering the message of harmony and peace advocated by Confucianism.
The presented calligraphy works are "a perfect combination of artistic charm and philosophical messages," which help to spread the spirit of traditional Chinese wisdom, said Wen Xuejun, president of Chinese Book Club of United Nations Staff Recreation Council, one of the sponsors of the event.
People also lined up to get copies of "Confucius Philosophy," a book introducing China's original culture, provided by the organizer.
The exhibition will last five days to Dec 22.
