Foreign ballet troupes light up Beijing stage

Dancers from Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal performed their contemporary ballet galas from Wednesday to Thursday. The show consisted of three short performances with different themes, Rouge, Night Box and Kosmos.

Rouge began the performance with themes of confrontation, the clash of cultures, power struggles between the dominant and the dominated, and what it meant to belong to a community. Night Box is a high-voltage work in which love, loss, sexuality and joy are intertwined. While Kosmos searched for a counterbalance, bring beauty to the fore and turning frenetic movement into a dance that brought people together in a joyous, liberating fashion.
