Chinese juveniles reading more
The reading rate for juveniles was 76.6 percent last year, improving from 2013. On average, Chinese children read 8.45 books, an increase of 1.48 on the previous year.
Average reading quantity for young people from ages 14 to 17 was 13.13 books in 2014, ranking first of all age groups.
For families with children aged less than 8, 88.8 percent of parents read with their children and on average spent 23.64 minutes a day reading with them.
