Beijing International Book Fair to open

More Chinese reading online, but fewer willing to pay

The 21st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) will run at the new China International Exhibition Center in Beijing's Shunyi district from August 27-31, 2014.

The five-day book fair includes the following exhibition areas: domestic publishing, overseas publishing, digital publishing and themed pavilions.

Awards ceremonies, forums and symposiums will be held to promote the exchanges and cooperation in the international publishing industry.

In line with previous years, famous authors and critics from China and abroad will be invited to give talks to visitors.

Turkey will serve as the Country of Honor this year.

The BIBF, started in 1986, is the world's third largest book fair, after the Frankfurt Book Fair and the London Book Fair.
