WUHAN - The death toll in a vehicle plunge in Central China's Hubei province on Thursday has risen to seven, after another three bodies were salvaged from a lake, said rescuers Friday morning.
Rescuers consisting of police and fire fighters said that the sport utility vehicle with eight people aboard veered off a narrow mountain road and plunged 20 meters into the reservoir in Xuan'en county in the west of Hubei on Thursday noon, after the driver steered the vehicle to avoid an coming vehicle.
One person was found alive with injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
