The meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions industry will bring more 500 million yuan ($82.5 million) in yearly income to the city of Guilin by 2015, the local government said on Wednesday.
The government supports MICE industry development in Guilin, in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, which is well known for natural scenery, said Dong Lequn, deputy mayor of the city.
The government invests 10 million yuan each year to reward enterprises for organizing MICE events in the city, she said.
The rich tourism resources and infrastructures are both advantages of Guilin to attract MICE events, said Zhou Ying, director of the city's exposition affairs bureau.
