Canton Fair opens furniture trade site

Organizers of the Canton Fair have opened an e-commerce trade website for furniture manufacturers on Thursday in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, in the hopes of boosting trade for local exporters.

The channel is affiliated with the fair's e-commerce platform, e-cantonfair.com, which was launched earlier this year.

Zhou Xiaobo, president of the Canton Fair E-Commerce Co, said the furniture site will also help Chinese manufacturers find possible opportunities with international furniture designers.

"The channel helps Chinese furniture exporters better find business opportunities with global buyers and also helps boost furniture designers as we have invited international designers to boost cooperation with domestic manufacturers," Zhou said.

More than 10,000 global buyers have posted online requests on the fair's e-commerce platform for Chinese products at the Canton Fair, which will run through Nov 4.
