BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday.
Speaking highly of Medvedev's efforts to boost bilateral ties, Xi said the current China visit is of great importance to stronger China-Russia relations.
This is the fifth meeting between Xi and Medvedev since 2008. During Xi's state visit to Russia in March, they reached a broad consensus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields. ' Medvedev conveyed to Xi greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Medvedev praised the sound momentum of Russia-China cooperation.
The Russian prime minister is paying a two-day official visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. Medvedev and Li co-chaired the 18th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government on Tuesday morning.
