NINGBO - Water and power supplies and communication have basically resumed in the eastern city of Yuyao, Zhejiang province, which was inundated by Typhoon Fitow, local authorities said Friday.
Floodwater have retreated in the city's 145 villages and communities that had been flooded by the Fitow-triggered torrential downpours since October 7, the city government said in a statement.
A total of 830,000 people in Yuyao were affected by the storm, which left at least 12 people dead and six missing in Zhejiang after making landfall in Fujian, just south of Zhejiang.
The government of Yuyao said the city's major roads and highways have reopened and passenger bus services have resumed in the city.
