China's Central Television added sign language for first time in broadcasting the two sessions this year to help those who are hearing impaired to understand the proceedings.
"This way people with hearing disabilities can be informed of the updates of the two sessions, a move that shows respect and care," said Lv Xinping, a NPC deputy.
There are many deputies and members with disabilities in the two sessions. Yu Bing, a member of CPPCC, made a proposal to add sign language to TV programs and films in 2009.
