Annual average salary of private sector employees was 32,706 yuan in 2013, a year-on-year nominal growth of 13.8 percent, according to a report released by China's National Bureau of Statistics on May 27.
The pace of growth fell 3.3 percentage points compared to 2012. If consumer prices are taken into account, then the actual growth rate will be 10.9 percent.
Among the various industries, the highest paid was information communication, software and information technology service, with average annual salary of 44,060 yuan. It is almost double that of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and the fishing sector, which ranks at the bottom with 24,645 yuan.
Science research and technology service is at second, with banking and finance coming at third.
Highest and lowest average wage ratio in 2013 was 3.86, slightly lower than the 3.96 in 2012.
The gross salary is the wage before tax deduction, and includes basic wage, merit pay, allowances and subsidies and other perks.
