6. Qingdao China International Horticultural Exposition 2014

Mascot: Qingqing

Logos and mascots of International Horticultural Expos
 
The mascot is named “Qingqing”which may indicate the city of Qingdao and the old Chinese saying that blue-green (qing) comes from but also excels blue. The design is a combination of natural landscape and ideals, inspired by such images as rolling waves, drifting clouds, lofty peaks and waving tree tops.

Qingqing raises her hand to extend her sincere invitation and warm welcome to friends from the five continents and show Qingdao’s positive and aspiring mentality as well as its confident determination to deliver an international horticultural feast.

The mascot, called Fairy of Phoenix Flower, is a little girl wearing a colorful chaplet and a T-shirt with the Expo logo. She has a multi-colored phoenix tail. Fairy of Phoenix Flower’s spreading her arms represents the 2016 Expo’s theme, “City and Nature-Phoenix Nirvana” and the city’s vitality and character.
