The International Garden and Greenery Exposition, part of the International Expositions Convention, was the first large-scale international gardening exposition in Asia and focused on the theme of the "Harmonious Coexistence of Nature and Mankind”.
3. Antalya Turkey International Horticultural Exposition 2016
Turkey’s first horticultural expo, EXPO 2016 Antalya International Horticultural Exposition, is being held from April 23rd to October 30th 2016, in Antalya, with a theme of “Flowers and Children”.
The motto of EXPO 2016 Antalya is “A Green Life for Future Generations". Subthemes are “History”, “Bio-Diversity”, “Sustainability” and “Green Cities”.
The peony has been chosen as the flower symbol of EXPO 2016 Antalya. Mascots of the Exposition are Ece & Efe, two Turkish children, wearing costumes inspired by the traditional “yörük” clothing seen in the Antalya region.
4. Shenyang China International Horticultural Exposition 2006
Mascot: Yangyang
The mascot, called Yangyang (sunshine), was an Azure-winged Magpie, and was mostly seen at the exposition site. It fully demonstrated the natural quality of the real local magpie. The magpie is a traditional Chinese bird symbolizing auspiciousness and good fortune. The Yangyang spreading his wings represents the vitality and enthusiasm of Shenyang and embodies the city’s wish to bring good luck and prosperity to the whole world.
5. Xi'an China International Horticultural Exposition 2011
Mascot: Chang'an Flower
Chang'an Flower is shaped like a pomegranate,which is the city flower of Xi'an—known as Chang'an in ancient times. The name Chang'an implies bringing long lasting good luck and health to people.
